I am looking forward to the second annual JAM where I will contribute a 10min talk on a profiling tool I am developing to aid reflection of experiences involving creativity.

Reflection is a subjective process involving memory, perception, imagination, reasoning and emotion. Its purpose is to create new meaning in a world that has meaning to the subject. Making a profiling tool is an act of synthesis. It makes explicit what is often hidden in a reflective process. In using it we can test the assumptions in our subjectivity.

It would be great if you could try it out and or adapt it to reflect your own beliefs and understandings and let me know whether it is useful.

A creativity profiling tool to aid learning through reflection

Jamming our way to better understandings of creativity in higher education
To "jam" is to improvise without extensive preparation. Using the 4C model of creativity developed by James Kaufman and Ron Beghetto as a framework, the aim of this session is to encourage participants to jam towards better shared understandings of what creativity means to us in the context of our everyday life and our disciplinary fields, and to share experiences of being creative. I will play my solo and then pass over to you for yours. But I will give you some notes to play with.
